 1. Online Counselling

If you are trained in counselling and wish to help Singaporean youths, aged 11 to 21, come join us as a volunteer on Quickchat!

What you get to do:

  • Provide a once-off text-based counselling session.
  • Listen to youths’ concerns and explore with them possible ways to manage the concerns.
Requirements: 
  • 21 years old and above.
  • Good command of written English.
  • Must be comfortable with use of technological devices and online websites.
  • Adults/students who have/are studying related qualifications in counselling / social work or equivalent experiences.
  • Have a basic understanding of the social service sectors and where youths can seek additional help (when required).
Commitment period:
  • Minimum 6 months (3 months of probation).
  • Must be able to volunteer during weekdays (Monday to Friday), from 10am to 5pm
*Do take note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and an interview will also be conducted.

2. Street Outreach Support

YGP

  • Join YGP Worker to learn how to engage youths on the street
  • Support street outreach with specialization skills

The Eye in the Community

  • Do street observation during own time at YGP drift locations (e.g. NW & SW) however, without YGP Worker they are unable to do any engagement.

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Able to commit for 6 months
  • Willing to work with youths
  • Have certain skillsets which individuals can utilize on the streets (e.g. Magic, Sepak Takraw, Photography, Music, Card games etc)
  • Training:
    • Observation Matrix
    • Sharing of YGP Framework & Introduction of YGP Clientele
    • Overview of Youth’s Issues and trends

3. Research / Admin Support

What you get to do:

  • Support in tidying of resources & updating monthly resource
  • Checking of contact log and tabulating of hours
  • Listing of engagement tools available
  • Support in conducting interviews or survey with some of our participants for research purposes
  • Other ad hoc data entry support

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Ad hoc basis
  • Able to commit at least 6 months.
  • To go through Street Outreach Support first
  • Possess IT skills to be able to develop programs or tidying data

Able to work in Microsoft Excel or word

4. Support Intervention Program

What you get to do:

  • Baking Program:
    • Facilitate session with youth in cookbook/ café project
    • Support in documenting down youth’s recipe
  • Joining workers in planning and conducting other intervention programs (For instance: Fitness, Mobile Gaming, Parent Support group, Fishing, Baking etc)

Requirements:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Ad hoc basis
  • Able to commit at least 6 months & went through Street Outreach Support
  • Possess unique skillset (e.g. Able to coach sports, facilitate session, fishing, photography, able to teach baking)

5. Publicity

What you get to do:

  • Assist in compiling photos into videos/creation of poster for YGP program
  • Managing social media accounts

Requirement:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Able to commit for 6 months
  • Went through Street Outreach Support
  • Possess experience in publicity will be a bonus
  • Willing to work with youths
  • Tech Savvy & Owns a laptop
  • Have basic photo/ video editing skills
