Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Registered in Physiotherapy with the Allied Health Professions Council of Singapore
  • Able to communicate with English and Chinese speaking clients
  • Preferably proficient in various dialects to interact with the elderly
4. Occupational Therapist (Home Care Services)

Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for assigned caseload
  • Assess and provide appropriate treatment to clients with neurological problems, orthopaedic or musculo-skeletal problems, amputees, cardio-respiratory conditions, other medical conditions and de-conditioned patients who require rehabilitation
  • Provide pain relief through electro-physical agents such as hot and cold therapy, and other evidence based therapies
  • Provide home assessments and provide advice on home modifications as required
  • Prepares clients for community integration by taking them for community outings prior to discharge
  • Maintain accurate and proper documentation of initial assessments, treatment goals and plans and clients’ progress
  • Prescribe necessary appliances/aids for clients’ optimum function
  • Provide caregiver’s training as required
  • Participate in all clinical and documentation audits
  • As a member of an interdisciplinary team, establish and maintain a working liaison with homecare staff, giving feedback on clients’ progress, client care conferences and reviews
  • Provide clinical coverage for other occupational therapists when the need arises
  • Supervise therapy assistants/health attendants during client interventions to ensure established levels of safety and professionalism are met
  • Manage and submit daily statistics on time on rehabilitative progress reports
  • Responsible for the use of therapy equipment and to report any faults that may arise
  • Continuing education through CME talks, via internal/external training
  • Participate in community outreach programs/ talks and workshops to public and community
  • Assist in training programs for therapy assistants

Requirements:

  • Graduated with a recognised degree from a local/overseas tertiary institution
  • At least 2 years experience in a healthcare setting
  • Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of Singapore
  • Able to communicate with English and Chinese speaking clients
  • Preferably proficient in various dialects to interact with the elderly

 

5. Occupational Therapist (Community Mental Health)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessment and triaging of client needs
  • Synthesize assessment information to prioritize care needs and develop care plans and intervention modalities
  • Plans and implements interventions to improve Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and community living skills based on assessment of needs.
  • Assess and develop activity-based analysis to evaluate strengths of the client and their environment and utilize community resources, plans and implements interventions that develop skills and tolerance to assist client in achieving occupational goals.
  • Conducts psychosocial rehabilitation interventions that include goal setting with clients, planning and implementing psychosocial interventions for individual and/or group settings. Interventions may include:
    • Mental wellness, resilience, and healthy lifestyle
    • Illness management and recovery / relapse prevention
    • Social skills and communication
    • Stress management
    • Budgeting and money management
    • Time management and work-life balance
    • Support groups
  • Monitors and feedback on progress to client and caseworker
  • Document and review effectiveness of interventions plans.

Requirements:

  • MUST possess Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Health under the Allied Health Professions Act
  • Preferably 2 to 3 years working experience with mental health populations
  • Having experience in developing programmes will be an added advantage
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferably with interest and passion for the elderly
  • Preferably proficient in various dialects to interact with the elderly
